Code of Conduct

The ethical, social and legal principles that guide our daily work.

Applies to:Employees and managersClients and business partnersSuppliers and subcontractors

Gjakovë · October 2026

01

Introduction

This Code of Conduct sets out the ethical, social and legal standards that guide the work of TEKNIKU SH.P.K. (business no. 810232851, Lug Bunar, 50000 Gjakovë). It is binding on all employees, team leaders and managers, and is also addressed to our partners: clients, suppliers, subcontractors and associates.

Our work – manufacturing fire extinguishers, servicing fire protection equipment, testing hydrant networks, testing lightning protection earthing, inspecting pressure vessels, training and fire protection design – directly affects the safety of people and property. Reliability, accuracy and honesty are therefore a basic condition of everything we do.

The Code applies together with the legislation in force in the Republic of Kosovo, the authorisations issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (AME) and the Ministry of Economy, and the company's internal regulations. Where the law sets a higher standard than this Code, the law applies.

Message from the Director

Dear employees, dear partners,

At TEKNIKU, integrity, transparency, responsibility and sustainability are at the heart of every decision. Clients trust us with the safety of their buildings, and institutions have trusted us with authorisations for work that protects human lives. We can only keep that trust by working honestly, lawfully and to technical standards.

This Code applies to every one of us, from the service technician in the field to the managers. We expect our partners to respect these principles too. We ensure compliance through regular training, clear procedures and open communication.

Thank you for your commitment and contribution.

Visar LLUKADirector, TEKNIKU SH.P.K.

Our values and principles

3,1Respect for human rights

TEKNIKU respects the dignity, freedom and rights of every person. We tolerate no form of exploitation, discrimination or abuse, either within the company or in our relations with clients and partners.

3,2No child labour or forced labour

We do not employ children and do not accept forced labour in any form, in line with the Labour Law and the conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO). The same is required of our suppliers and subcontractors.

3,3Fair working conditions and equal opportunities

  • Every employee has a written employment contract, wages paid on time, and working hours and leave in line with the law.
  • Everyone is treated equally, regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, age or sexual orientation.
  • Harassment, intimidation and discrimination are not tolerated.
  • We support employees' professional development through training and technical certifications.

3,4Freedom of association

We respect employees' right to organise and to take part in collective bargaining. We encourage open and honest dialogue between managers and staff.

3,5Health and safety at work

Employee safety is our highest priority, especially in higher-risk work.

Protective equipment

For every task we provide suitable personal protective equipment: servicing, refilling, hydrostatic testing, work at height and near electrical installations.

Pressure, CO₂ and extinguishing agents

Work with pressure vessels, CO₂ and extinguishing agents is carried out only by trained staff and according to written procedures.

Service vehicles

Vehicles are maintained regularly and loads of extinguishers are secured during transport.

Incident reporting

Every accident, injury or near miss is reported immediately and analysed to prevent it happening again.

The right to stop work

Employees have the right to stop work when they see a direct danger, without consequences for them.

04

Environmental protection and sustainable practices

4,1Responsible use of resources

We strive to reduce our use of energy, fuel and materials. We plan service routes to avoid unnecessary journeys and use electronic documentation where possible.

We also encourage our partners to adopt environmentally friendly practices.

4,2Managing waste from servicing

Extinguishing agents and servicing materials need particular care:

  • Powder, foam, foam concentrate and CO₂ are not released into the environment; they are reused where permitted or handed to licensed operators.
  • Cylinders taken out of service, and metal and plastic parts, are separated and sent for recycling.
  • Extinguishers are filled and emptied in controlled areas, to avoid spreading powder and gas.

4,3Reducing emissions and preventing damage

We comply with all environmental laws and regulations in force. We aim to reduce emissions through regular vehicle maintenance, better work planning and choosing products with a smaller environmental impact where they offer the same level of fire protection.

05

Integrity and ethical conduct

5,1Lawfulness and anti-corruption

We comply with the laws and regulations in force without exception. We do not offer, promise or accept money, gifts, favours or free services to win work, pass an inspection or influence a decision.

Small symbolic gifts are allowed only when they are transparent and create no obligation.

5,2Impartiality in inspections and certification

As an authorised body for servicing, testing and inspection, we guarantee that:

  • A label, record, report or certificate is issued only after the work has actually and fully been carried out.
  • Results are recorded exactly as measured; no equipment is declared in order if it does not meet the requirements.
  • No commercial pressure influences the result of an inspection.
  • Work is carried out only within valid authorisations and by qualified staff.

5,3Preventing money laundering, and sanctions

We accept payments only from identified and lawful sources, mainly through bank accounts, and keep accurate financial records. We comply with customs and trade rules for importing equipment and extinguishing agents.

5,4Fair competition

We compete on quality, price and service, not through secret agreements. We do not fix prices, share markets or coordinate bids in tenders, and we do not spread false information about competitors.

5,5Quality of products and services

We offer only certified products, and services carried out to the relevant standards and the manufacturer's instructions. We give clients accurate information about the condition of their equipment and the measures needed, even when that is not the news they expect.

5,6Choosing suppliers

We choose suppliers that meet legal, ethical and environmental requirements, and we expect them to respect the principles of this Code.

5,7Intellectual property

We protect our brand, technical documentation and projects, and we respect the intellectual property of clients, manufacturers and partners. We do not use unlicensed software or copy other people's documents without permission.

5,8Avoiding conflicts of interest

Personal interests must not influence work decisions. Employees immediately declare any possible conflict of interest, e.g. a family link with a client or supplier, side work in the same field, or inspecting equipment they installed themselves. Managers decide the measures to avoid the conflict.

5,9Data protection and confidentiality

Personal data of clients and employees is processed only for work purposes and in line with personal data protection legislation. Building plans, security system diagrams, access codes and other client information are treated as confidential and are not shared with third parties without authorisation.

06

Responsible sourcing and risk management

6,1The supply chain

We buy products, extinguishing agents, spare parts and equipment only from recognised manufacturers and suppliers, with valid certificates and product traceability.

We build long-term relationships with suppliers who share our values on human rights, working conditions and the environment.

6,2Compliance and risk management

We identify legal, technical and financial risks early and act before they become problems. To do so:

  • We track the expiry dates of authorisations, staff certificates, calibration of measuring equipment and third-party liability insurance.
  • We organise regular staff training on procedures, health and safety and this Code.
  • Work procedures and protocols are written down, kept up to date and available to every employee.
07

Reporting, review and improvement

7,1Reporting and whistleblower protection

Any employee or partner who notices a breach of this Code, unethical behaviour or a safety risk is encouraged to report it.

Every report is treated confidentially and examined carefully. A person who reports in good faith is protected from retaliation, in line with whistleblower protection legislation.

Confirmed breaches of the Code may lead to disciplinary measures, up to termination of the employment contract or the business relationship.

7,2Continuous review and updating

We review the Code at least once a year and whenever the law, our authorisations or our activities change. We welcome suggestions from employees, clients and partners, because they help us improve.

08

Closing words

This Code of Conduct is part of our culture and our everyday work. We ask all employees and partners to apply it in every task. Together we build a working environment based on respect, integrity and sustainability, and strengthen the trust that clients and institutions place in TEKNIKU.
