How impulse extinguishing works

The secret of the impulse process comes down to two words: efficient water use. That highly efficient contact with water creates the biggest advantage – fast extinguishing of the seat of the fire.

The impulse gun is the heart of the technology. Combined with a backpack or trolley, it makes the ideal team for a fast first attack.

IFEX® 3001 1-litre impulse gun

Stainless-steel body with a pressure chamber at the rear, a quick-opening valve and a front chamber for water or agent. When the valve opens, compressed air drives the agent out within milliseconds at over 400 km/h. Can also be used with foam.

IFEX® 3005 gun – lower recoil

A further development of the 3001: the air and water chambers are smaller, so recoil is lower and the gun is lighter. Can also be used with foam.

IFEX®

IFEX® CAFS gun

Compressed Air Foam System for class A and B fires with premixed foam. It connects with quick couplings and is ready at once; the jet adjusts steplessly from a wide spray up to 10 m. Its main purpose: laying a foam blanket.

IFEX® 13-litre backpack 3001/12

The most mobile supply unit: agent tank, pressure vessel and regulator for the gun's air and water. Water and additives are filled straight into the tank; foam concentration drops to 0.5–1 % instead of the usual 3–6 %. The frame has room for a spare 2-litre cylinder.

IFEX® 3035 / 3050 trolleys

With 35 or 50 litres of water – for at least 35 impulse shots – the trolleys keep even larger fires under control. They consist of the agent tank, a 6-litre cylinder with regulator, gun holders and a 15 m coaxial hose.
