About us
TEKNIKU is the longest-established company in Kosovo in the field of fire protection equipment. Founded in 1989 in Gjakovë as a family business, today it is a leading company in the manufacture, supply and maintenance of fire extinguishers and firefighting equipment.
With a background in engineering and installation work, we have been fully dedicated to fire protection since 1992. Today we manufacture our own fire extinguishers at our facility in Gjakovë, certified to the European standard EN 3-10, in partnership with EMME Antincendio of Italy.
Our service teams cover the whole of Kosovo. As a body authorised by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Economy, we provide products and services in line with European standards, from the first extinguisher to a building's complete protection system.

Our history
- 1989
Founded
Qemajl Lluka founds TEKNIKU in Gjakovë as a family business, with a background in engineering and installation work in construction.
- 1992
The move into fire protection
At the end of the year the business expands into fire protection – the step that makes TEKNIKU a pioneer of the field in Kosovo.
- 1999
The second generation
Visar Lluka and Blendi Lluka, the founder's sons, become co-owners and begin modernising and expanding the company.
- 2025
Authorised body
The Ministry of Economy authorises TEKNIKU as an authorised body for pressure vessels (Authorisation PP-08-2025).
- Today
A leading company in Kosovo
A new production and service facility in Lug Bunar, Gjakovë; manufacturing certified to EN 3-10; and TEKNIKU SAFETY for fire protection engineering and design.
What we do

Manufacturing fire extinguishers
Manufactured at our facility in Gjakovë, certified to EN 3-10, in partnership with EMME Antincendio (Italy).
Servicing, inspection and certification
Periodic checks of fire extinguishers and firefighting equipment across Kosovo, with our own teams and vehicles.
Pressure vessels up to 400 bar
Inspection and testing of high-pressure vessels, as an authorised body of the Ministry of Economy.
Hydrant networks
Installation, pressure testing and certification of fire hydrant networks.
Automatic suppression systems
FM-200 gas systems and ANSUL PIRANHA systems for professional kitchens.
Lightning protection and earthing
Earth-resistance measurement of lightning protection installations, with a report issued by an authorised body.
Fire protection training
Training for clients' staff on fire prevention and the correct use of extinguishers.
Design and fire safety reports
Fire safety reports and design of detection, alarm and suppression systems, through TEKNIKU SAFETY.
The TEKNIKU extinguisher range
TEKNIKU-branded fire extinguishers, made in Gjakovë and certified to EN 3. Wheeled units comply with EN 1866-1.
- ABC powderP-1 to P-50
Portable and wheeled units (P-25, P-50) for class A, B and C fires. The 6 kg extinguisher comes in two models: Gjakova and Prizreni.
- Carbon dioxide CO₂CO2-2 to CO2-25
2 kg and 5 kg units, plus 10 kg and 25 kg wheeled units, for electrical equipment and spaces where no residue may be left.

- Hydrant cabinetsFor the hydrant network
Hydrant cabinets fitted with hose and nozzle for the fire hydrant network. We supply, install and test them with our own team.
Firefighting equipment, personal protective equipment and hydraulic rescue tools – from our international partners.
